FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • What does a typical day of Way2Play look like?
Campers will participate in a wide variety of organized games and activities in the gym, field, playgrounds, and classrooms. While our day is very active, we also have daily enrichments where the focus is on a different kind of play; arts and crafts, board games, Legos, magnatiles, chess, and D.E.A.R (drop everything and read). Groups rotate every 30-45 minutes to a new activity. The daily schedule is the same but the specific activities during those times change daily giving campers the opportunity to continually participate in different games. While we play a lot of traditional sports, we don't focus on just one. We also play P.E. favorites that aren't considered traditional but just as much fun. At Way2Play the priority is on participation and fun, not competition and winning.
  • What are the hours of Way2Play?
Way2Play is fully staffed from 8am-6pm so feel free to use whatever hours work best for you and you’re your family.
  • What should my camper pack for a day of Way2Play?
Campers should wear clothes that are comfortable to play in along with closed toed shoes. Way2Play will provide both a morning and afternoon snack, but they will need a peanut free lunch along with a reusable water bottle to refill. A book is also recommended for our D.E.A.R. time in the afternoons but we also have a library should your camper want to borrow one of ours.
  • How are campers grouped and what is the ratio of coach to camper?
Campers are grouped by age/grade with most weeks having 3 groups: K/1st , 2 nd /3rd , and 4th -6th . Our goal is to have a coach to camper ratio of 1:12 with most groups averaging anywhere between 20- 25 campers. In our youngest age group coaches in training are added as an extra set of hands to help with whatever is needed.
  • Who are the coaches?
At Way2Play we have 3 levels of coaches: head coaches, assistant coaches, and coaches in training. Our head coaches are made up of adults who work in a school setting when not at Way2Play and college aged students who are education/recreation majors. Our assistant coaches are older high school students who have been through our coaches in training program and attended Way2Play when they were younger. Our coaches in training are freshman and sophomores in high school who like our assistant coaches, attended Way2Play in the past, and want to continue with us in a new role.
  • What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellations or changes in camp require at least fifteen (15) days' notice prior to the camp week start date to receive a full refund. After fifteen days (15) prior to the camp week start date, 50% of the total registration will be refunded. No credits or refunds will be issued for camp closures due to inclement weather, maintenance, city/county ordinances, or events out of our control.
